Teen being charged with murder for fatal stabbing

A teen is being charged with murder for a fatal stabbing in Lynn Tuesday evening, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lynn Police Chief Chris Reddy announced.

The teen will be arraigned as an adult in Lynn District Court sometime Tuesday.

A second teen, who will not be identified because he is a juvenile, also was arrested and is being charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

A third teen was stabbed at the Alpha Convenience Store, 1 Freeman Square, about 6 p.m. A short time later, a stabbing was reported to a nearby fire station. The stabbing victim was transported to Salem Hospital where they subsequently died from their wounds.

The deceased teen’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family and friends.

The incident remains under investigation by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit and detectives from the Lynn Police Department.
