Alfredo Paratore Receives Life Sentence for Killing His Mother

SALEM, Mass. – June 12, 2025 – In Superior Court in Salem today, Alfredo Paratore, 53, of Lynn, pled guilty to the murder of his mother, Katherine Paratore, the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announces. Katherine Paratore was 80 at the time of her death. On the night of June 11, 2021, Lynn Police responded to a call and found her deceased with multiple traumatic injuries.
Appearing before the Hon. William F. Bloomer today, Paratore pled guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in state prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years. Representing the Commonwealth, Prosecutor Kate MacDougall told the court that the plea spared the victim’s family from having to endure a prolonged and difficult trial.
The defendant was represented by attorney John Morris. Mikki DeFeo served as victim/witness advocate for the family. In court today, multiple family members presented victim impact statements and expressed hope that Katherine Paratore will be remembered for the caring and dependable person that she was in life.
