Death on South Common Street in Lynn Being Investigated as Apparent Homicide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LYNN, Mass. – August 7, 2026 – The death that occurred on the 200 block of South Common Street in Lynn yesterday is being investigated as an apparent homicide, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lynn Chief of Police Christopher Reddy confirm. Lynn Police responded to a call at approximately 6:18 a.m. Thursday morning and found a 52-year-old man with apparent trauma. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker’s office, the Lynn Police Department, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Authorities say there is not considered to be any wider threat to the public at this time. Pending family notifications, the man’s identity will not be released today.
