Fulcar-Bautista Arraigned in Connection to Alleged Hit and Run, Other Charges

SALEM, Mass. – January 21, 2026 – In Salem District Court today, Lucas D. Fulcar-Bautista, 33, of Coventry, Rhode Island, was arraigned in connection to an alleged hit and run near 12 Pope Street in Salem involving a vehicle strike resulting in injuries to a Salem Police Department officer on Thursday, January 15. Fulcar-Bautista was arraigned on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of personal injury, failure to stop for police, and trafficking in more than 10 grams of fentanyl.

Appearing before the Hon. Tonomeye Coleman, the defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges. Fulcar-Bautista was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing which is scheduled for January 26 in Salem District Court.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
