FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LYNN, Mass. – November 3, 2026 – Marvin Kentrez Pryien, 26, of Lynn appeared before the Hon. Leo S. Fama in Lynn District Court today for a dangerousness hearing and a hearing on the revocation of his pre-trial conditions on a prior open case. Kentrez Pryien was ordered held without bail, the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker confirms.
Kentrez Pryien was previously arraigned in Lynn District Court on October 13th for attempt to commit crime (breaking and entering), domestic assault, and malicious destruction of property over $1,200. On October 16th, after a dangerousness hearing stemming from that incident, the defendant was released by the court on conditions.
The Commonwealth alleges that, on October 26th, Kentrez Pryien kidnapped a six-year-old child, with Lynn Police responding to a call at approximately 4:36 p.m. that day indicating that a vehicle near New Park Street in Lynn had been stolen with a child in the back seat. After Lynn Police issued a “be on the lookout” (BOLO), the vehicle was located. Authorities say the vehicle struck multiple police cruisers and another vehicle prior to being stopped on the Revere Beach Parkway in Everett by the Everett Police Department, at which point the defendant was taken into custody. The child was transported for evaluation and later released from the hospital. While in police custody, the Commonwealth alleges that Kentrez Pryien committed open and gross lewd and lascivious behavior by exposing himself to the booking officer.
Kentrez Pryien is charged with kidnapping, reckless endangerment of child, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of shoplifting by asportation, two counts of open and gross lewdness, and vandalizing property. The defendant, represented at arraignment by attorney Joseph McDonald, has pleaded not guilty. Assistant District Attorney Carly Collins represented the Commonwealth.
The defendant is due back in court on December 3rd.
All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
