Saugus man charged with killing housemate

A Saugus man has been arrested and charged with murdering his housemate, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli announced Friday.

George Finley, 64, is charged with killing Joshua Thomson, 37, in the house they shared at 315 Essex Street, Saugus.

Police went to the scene after a 911 call was received at 6:36 a.m. Friday reporting a death at that address. Finley was located at the house and subsequently charged with murder.

There is no ongoing threat to the public.

Finley will likely be arraigned Monday in Lynn District Court.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by members of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit and detectives from the Saugus Police Department.
