Two Found Deceased in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. – January 4, 2026 – Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lawrence Chief of Police Maurice Aguiler have confirmed the death of two individuals found deceased in a Lawrence home on Saturday evening.
On January 3rd, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers from the Lawrence police department responded to an apartment at 582 Essex Street, a multi-unit dwelling in Lawrence for a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old male and 30-year-old female. Both individuals were deceased from gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the two decedents had been involved in a long-term dating relationship. The identities of the two individuals will not be released pending next of kin notifications. The investigation remains active and ongoing by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, detectives from the Lawrence Police Department, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
