Two Plead Guilty to Charges Tied to 2025 Armed Jewelry Store Robbery in North Andover

SALEM, Mass. – September 28, 2026 – In Essex County Superior Court today, two defendants pled guilty to charges stemming from a July 3, 2025 armed robbery of Milos Joyeria in North Andover. The defendants, two of six suspects in the incident, admitted to their role in the robbery, including wearing masks and threatening employees and one customer inside – including, in Abreu’s case, with a firearm in hand. They also admitted to switching vehicles and leading police on a chase on Route 125 in North Andover, which continued onto Route 495 into Lawrence, where they then fled before they were found and arrested.
Before the Hon. John C. Fraser, Yire Abreu, 25, of Bronx, New York, and Wilfred Mordan, 23, of Hazelton, Pennsylvania each pled guilty to armed and masked robbery, five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a large-capacity-feeding device, and possessing a loaded firearm. Judge Fraser sentenced Abreu to 10 to 12 years in state prison on the armed and masked robbery indictment, concurrent prison time on other firearms offenses, and three years’ probation from and after release from prison on each of the assault by means of a dangerous weapon indictments.
Mordan was sentenced to seven years to seven years and one day in state prison on the armed and masked robbery indictment, concurrent prison time on other firearms offenses, and to three years’ probation from and after release from prison on each of the assault by means of a dangerous weapon indictments. Both defendants’ probation terms include orders to stay away from and have no contact with victims in the case as well as the jewelry store, and to seek and maintain employment. Other defendants alleged to have been involved in the incident are also facing charges.
Assistant District Attorney Stefanie Stanbro prosecuted the cases on behalf of the Commonwealth. Mordan was represented by attorney Meredith Reeves, while Abreu was represented by attorney William Hernon. In addition to the North Andover Police Department and the Lawrence Police Department, the response to the incident involved collaborative efforts by the Methuen Police Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Drone, and K9 units, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
