Derell Guy, 37, of Lynn was found guilty of first-degree murder on the theories of extreme atrocity and cruelty, and of felony murder. An Essex Superior Court jury sitting in Lawrence also convicted Guy of armed robbery.

Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announced Wednesday - his first official day in office - that he’s retaining the senior trial, appellate and administrative leaders who have been serving county residents.

The incoming district attorney will take the oath of office at Salem High School, from which he graduated in 1976.

The county’s incoming chief law enforcement officer has tapped a senior team with deep roots in the county, and in their various disciplines.
