Damien Manuel German Arraigned for Murder in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. – September 15, 2025 – Today, Damien Manuel German, 25, of Lawrence, was arraigned for murder following a fatal shooting on Newbury Street in Lawrence on Sunday night, the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker confirms. Pending family notifications, the deceased victim’s identity is not being released outside of the arraignment today.
Appearing in Lawrence District Court before the Hon. Edward Karcasinas, German was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was held without bail. At the arraignment, the court granted the Commonwealth’s request that related records be impounded. German is scheduled to return to court on October 15 for a probable cause hearing.
The Lawrence Police Department responded to the call of the shooting, and the subsequent investigation also included the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker’s office and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
