Man Arrested for Salem, MA Murder in Portsmouth, NH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SALEM, Mass. – September 9, 2026 – Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Salem Police Chief Lucas J. Miller confirm that a homicide occurred on Cabot Street in Salem and a full investigation is underway. Officers responding to a wellbeing check on the evening of Tuesday, September 8th located a 42-year-old deceased woman.
Authorities applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for a 50-year-old Salem man in connection with the woman’s death. The suspect was arrested for the murder today in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He is expected to be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in New Hampshire prior to his arraignment in Salem District Court on the murder charge. More information is expected to be available tomorrow.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
