Paul Morey, Charged with Murder of Patricia Donaldson, Arraigned on Fugitive Charge in NH

SALEM, Mass. – September 10, 2026 – The Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announces that Paul Morey, 50, of Salem, has been charged in connection with the death of 42-year-old Patricia Donaldson, also of Salem. As Tucker and Salem Police Chief Lucas J. Miller stated yesterday, officers and emergency personnel responded to a wellbeing check on the evening of Tuesday, September 8th. There, they located Donaldson and pronounced her deceased at a residence on Cabot Street in Salem.

Today, Morey was arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in New Hampshire’s 10th Circuit District Division of Portsmouth. Morey appeared via video conference and was appointed counsel. He was ordered held without bail pending review upon his next hearing, which was scheduled to occur in Portsmouth on Thursday, September 17th. He is expected to be arraigned on one count of murder in Salem District Court after the conclusion of the fugitive proceedings in New Hampshire.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
