Raymond Nestor Arraigned in Motor Vehicle Death of Angela Desmond

LAWRENCE, Mass. – May 16, 2025 – Raymond Nestor, 20, of Haverhill, Mass. was arraigned today in Lawrence District Court in connection with a motor vehicle crash on May 7, 2023 that killed Angela Desmond of North Andover, who was 47 at the time of her death, according to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker. Nestor is charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and a marked lanes violation.

Authorities allege Nestor’s Honda was traveling on Massachusetts Avenue in North Andover near Rt. 125 when it crossed the roadway and hit Desmond, a pedestrian on the sidewalk. Desmond was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The case was investigated by the North Andover Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.

In court today, Nestor pled not guilty and the Hon. Carol-Ann Fraser ordered the defendant not to drive while the case is pending and to have no contact with the victim’s family. Assistant District Attorney Jessica Fleet handled the arraignment on behalf of the Commonwealth. The defendant was represented by attorney Jeffrey Wilson. Nestor is scheduled to return to court on July 10 for a pretrial hearing via Zoom.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
