Three Arraigned for Gunfire in Salem Neighborhood

SALEM, Mass. – July 8, 2025 – Three defendants were arraigned in Superior Court in Salem today in connection to charges that they allegedly fired 66 rounds of ammunition in a targeted attack in a residential Salem neighborhood, hitting surrounding buildings, vehicles, and objects, according to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker. The incident occurred on Albion Street in Salem just before 7 a.m. on Monday, April 14. Salem Police responded to the incident and made three arrests on Friday, April 18.
In Superior Court today, Ronnie Lee Cato III, 19, of Boston, Richardson Frederic, 18, of Somerville, and John King-Marshall, 18, of Quincy, were each charged with four counts of armed assault to murder, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device. Each of the defendants pled not guilty before the Hon. Elizabeth A. Dunigan. The judge ordered the three defendants held without bail on dangerousness.
The three defendants are scheduled to return to court on August 13.
All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
