Two Unrelated Deaths Under Investigation in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. – July 23, 2026 – The Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker confirms that two unrelated deaths that occurred in Lawrence today are under investigation.

Early this morning, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to Tucker’s office responded to a fatal shooting on Bay State Rd. in Lawrence. Domingo Rivera, 44, of Haverhill was pronounced deceased. The fatal shooting remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

This afternoon, authorities responded to reports of a deceased female in the Merrimack River. Brooke Munday, 44, of Lawrence was recovered from the riverbank. Authorities say no foul play is suspected.
