Woman Killed in Swampscott Condo Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. – June 4, 2026 – A woman is deceased after a fire occurred in an apartment unit within a condominium complex located on Loring Avenue in Swampscott this morning, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker confirms. The Swampscott Fire Department located the woman, 69, within her apartment unit and she was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Pending family notifications, her identity will not be released today.

The incident is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker's office, the Swampscott Police Department Detective Unit, the Office of State Fire Marshal Jon Davine, the Swampscott Fire Department, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
