Yssael Lantigua-Alecon Arraigned for 2015 Murder of Joselo Campusano

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SALEM, Mass. – September 18, 2026 – The Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announces that Yssael Lantigua-Alecon was arraigned today for the 2015 murder of Joselo Campusano. The Commonwealth alleges that Lantigua-Alecon fatally shot Campusano at Bali’s Restaurant in Lawrence on May 1, 2015. Appearing before the Hon. John C. Fraser in Essex County Superior Court today, Lantigua-Alecon pled not guilty to murder and carrying a firearm without a license and was ordered held without bail.

Lantigua-Alecon had been listed on the Massachusetts State Police “Most Wanted Fugitives” list prior to his arrest on August 17, 2026 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania by the United States Marshal Service. Assistant District Attorney Jessica Strasnick is prosecuting the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. Lantigua-Alecon was represented by attorney Amy Sixt.

Lantigua-Alecon is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, November 18th.

“We sincerely appreciate the diligent work of the U.S. Marshal Service, the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the MSP Detective Unit assigned to my office, and the Lawrence Police Department in ensuring that this defendant will now face these criminal charges,” Tucker said.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
